Principal's Message
My name is Kevin Cano, the proud Principal at Abbott Elementary, and I want to welcome you to the 2020-2021 academic school year. It is my hope that you and your family are safe and you are in communication with those you love.
Our students physical and mental health are as important as their academics. This is why we are instituting a virtual learning model. We realize this is not the ideal way to open school, but we cannot risk the health of our students, staff and community.
We are dedicated educators who have pledged to serve. Our teachers, are self motivated- life long learners who put the needs of their students first. We understand that there will be challenges and we are prepared to take them on.
Please know that we here at Abbott Elementary are here for you. We have numerous partnerships with outside agencies which focus on everything from mental health to basic care. Mi nombre es Kevin Cano, el orgulloso director de la Escuela Janie P. Abbott, y quiero darles la bienvenida al año escolar académico 2020-2021. Yo espero que usted y su familia estén seguros y en comunicación con sus seres queridos.
La salud física y mental de nuestros estudiantes es tan importante como la académica. Es por eso que estamos instituyendo el modelo de aprendizaje virtual. Sabemos que esta no es la manera ideal para abrir la escuela, pero no podemos arriesgar la salud de nuestros estudiantes, personal escolar, y nuestra comunidad.
Somos educadores que hicimos la promesa de servir. Nuestros maestros, son automotivados y aprendices de por vida quienes ponen las necesidades de sus estudiantes primero. Entendemos que habrá retos y estamos preparados para tomarlos.
Por favor sepa que aquí en Abbott estamos para ustedes. Tenemos numerosas alianzas con otras agencias de afuera las cuales se enfocan en todo desde la salud mental hasta cuidado básico.
