While negotiations continue, I want to emphasize that we are all fighting for the same cause – investing in our Lynwood students and providing them with a first-class education. We value our teachers and are working hard to give them the highest salary feasible without jeopardizing the financial stability of our District.
We, like all districts across Los Angeles County and the state, are facing challenging times in our school budgets. We have declining enrollment coupled with loss of one-time funds and less money coming from the state. It is our job to act responsibly and keep students at the forefront of every decision we make.
